This is sometimes caused by your dialup modem encountering line once connected. However the most common cause for this is the email scanning options in Anti-Virus software. The reason this occurs is the Anti-Virus software is taking to long to scan the emails, and as a result our mail server believes your have disconnected, to ensure security with your email the server then drops the connection. The easiest fix for this issue is to simply disable the incoming email scanning. This will not affect the security of your system as the emails can still be manually scanned or with most new versions of Anti-Virus software the emails are scanned when opened.
